Colorado 2011

I had not been to the Paonia Rally, but since they were celebrating their 40 th annual, I figured they must be doing something right and besides, it’s southwest Colorado. I left on Monday and spent the night in Cortez. My plans for camping next to the Delores River were dashed by their biggest rain in months with flash flood warnings. The next day  I was planning to head up to Grand Junction. I met a couple of riders from Colorado who suggested I take the scenic route thru Gateway.

Jim, Steve and I rode to Aspen on Friday. By the look on their faces, Aspen did not impress them at all!

I really enjoyed myself at this rally. The weather was perfect with a little rain on Saturday night. The different bands that played on three nights were excellent. Theo, from the Sherpa Co., was pure entertainment. The townspeople all seemed to welcome being taken over for three day and many turned out for the music each night.

Will plan on it next year...
