This was an unexpected trip. After our Alaska cruise in 2018, we thought we might do a land tour for a change. England, Ireland and Scotland come to mind. At one point, we thought about renting a small place in Tuscany for a month, which is still on our list, though down the road.

We had not given much consideration to South America until Viking Ocean presented us with a very good deal on one of their legs of their round the world cruise. It was called “Journey along the Pacific Coast” and we experienced the countries and cultures along the coast of South America and Central America, from Chile to California.
